NEW PROJECT IN INDIA WITH PARAMPARAI FOUNDATION
Theatre Embassy is currently very active in India. The Paramparai Foundation, founded by Saskia Kersenboom is the second partnership that started there. The project "Murai - the right to Perform 'focuses on research and development of music and dance of the members of the community of Melakkarar within the Hindu temples of Tamil Nadu temple dances.
Early next year, choreographer and scholar, Saskia Kersenboom, to work with musicians who have been twelve generations in the temple of Tiruvarur and playing local dance choreographer. This cooperation will benefit only the performers themselves and the goal now is to project the future candidate for nomination as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
